I’m dedicated to helping people on a journey that can seem overwhelming at the start. With the right support, so much can start to feel achievable. The process I use may include approaches and exercises to reduce distress, or practicing different techniques that increase self-awareness. I see real value in preventative and Solution Focused approaches that maintain and restore relationships. I might also offer new frames of reference or perspectives around anger, anxiety, depression, trauma or challenging life transitions.
I created JTC because I know there’s a need for access to counselling outside the typical 9-5 hours. I’m committed to opening up the counselling experience beyond the usual setting, which is why JTC offers nature-based work and introspective outings, as well as standard office meetings.
I truly love this work. I’ve been doing it for over 20 years in various therapeutic settings: substance use and mental health clinics, community-based counselling centres, remote treatment centres and adventure/wilderness programs. I have also worked in this role, collaboratively, with tourism groups, mountain safety professionals, guiding agencies and Indigenous leaderships programs.
